This school has been a key part in shaping me into the person I am today. Whether it was 8 year old me getting inspired by my teacher by her faith in my writing abilities, or my junior year math teacher explaining to me how proud of me she is for getting this far, Academy has always done right by me and my family in so many different ways. Recently, I become homeless and have been going through lots of physical and mental battles that I am still very much struggling with. I happened to have my AP Chemistry exam 3 days later, and I knew that I had to complete it- it would ensure some normalcy to my life. The minute I stepped on campus, I had to tell one of my teachers- because Academy has made me feel safe enough to do so. I was able to tell a couple more and eventually, I had a whole village behind me supporting me and making sure I had everything I needed.
